Our story

It all began at a movie theater. A young boy discovered he loved classic film. After a couple of years watching weekly classic films with his dad, and learning more about what he was watching, he wanted to share his favorite films with his friends.

From that idea came Austin Flick Clique. A monthly film screening in Austin, Texas where like-minded friends and families gather in person to watch classic film together!

A year later, we had enough content to share our programming so other families can bring the art of cinema into their family culture. Maybe you can start your own Flick Clique where you live.

How do we pick our movies? It’s simple. We pick what we like! As long as it’s classic (which we define as pre-1970), it can make our list. All of our current movies are for an audience of 13+, so subject matter and appropriateness should be determined and selected by the child’s guardians.
